“It is with deep sadness that I announce to the members of the public and family members who are not in the know at this time that Douglas Tawanda Munatsi passed on in the early hours this morning due to a fire that occurred at his residence. We are still as a family making plans for his funeral, nothing has been determined, neither has the cause of the fire determined. It is still in the hands of the police who are investigating. We will be informing you as time goes on about the funeral arrangements as they become decided upon by the family members. Mr Munatsi was alone in the house at the time of the incident,” he said.
He also said the family has lost a great teacher.

He was a teacher, he was a person who was always keen to teach and impart knowledge and all, through his experiences in the business community and other areas. As a family we have lost a son, a brother, husband and father. It’s a loss not only for the organisation he served- ZIDA but also for the private businesses he operated, where we are all part of,” he added.
Munatsi is survived by his wife and three sons.
Mourners are gathered at House Number 29 Morningside Drive, Mt Pleasant in Harare.
