Jesus capitalised on another Varane mistake and lifted the ball over Thibaut Courtois to put City 2-1 up on the night.
In another match played tonight, Lyon lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus 2-1 but proceeded to quarterfinals on 2-2 aggregate. Ronaldo scored both goals for Turin.
Guardiola’s men will face Lyon in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Sterling hailed his team-mates after City’s win, with the England international claiming they’re ready to go all the way.
Meanwhile, Lyon were without Zimbabwean striker Tinotenda Kadewere who has been training with the team for a month now.
