President Emmerson Mnangagwa Turns 79

President Emmerson Mnangagwa turned 79 today.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana took to his Twitter page and wished the President a happy birthday.

“Today is His Excellency, President @edmnangagwa’s birthday. Happy Birthday sir.”


In another post, Mangwana wrote:

President Mnangagwa was born on 15 September 1942 in Zvishavane.

In other news, iHarare reported that the government of Zimbabwe has barred all unvaccinated government workers from reporting for work.

This comes as the authorities are aggressively pushing to attain herd immunity against Covid-19. Zimbabwe is targeting to vaccinate 10 million people against Covid-19 by December.

The decision to bar unvaccinated civil servants from work was announced by Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa on Tuesday. Speaking during a post-cabinet briefing, the Information Minister said,

“Pursuant to the previous announcement that all civil servants should be vaccinated, Cabinet further resolved that no unvaccinated civil servants will be allowed to come to work.”
