In a suspected case of juju, a 13-year-old-Chipinge boy died six days after he reportedly killed a neighbour’s black cat.
ZimCitizen News Crew has established that the owner of the alleged cat (name supplied) has admitted to using juju to kill the boy after accusing him of killing her cat.
Chipinge Times reports that the village head, Siyaso Peter Ndhlovu, confirmed the incident and told the news crew that the suspected ‘notorious’ witch would appear at his court answering to allegations of killing Zacharia Mlambo using juju.
The deceased’s mother, Tambudzai Mlambo, told the publication that her son killed the cat because it was always in their house eating family food.
Circumstances leading to the incident are that the cat had eaten some fish, and Zachariah spotted it the next day in a bucket of meal-mealie, and he then killed it.
It is further alleged that after realising that the cat had died, the alleged witch reportedly told the boy that the cat was her helper, and she threatened to make sure that he died the same way the cat died.
“My son started complaining of a headache and his head started swelling…. We went to the suspected witch and apologised. We even offered to pay her US$10 but she refused it insisting that all she wanted was her black cat back. My son died a painful death six days later,” said Tambudzai.
The publication further reports that its news crew visited the village but all villagers declined to accompany them to the alleged witch’s house.
